WHO WE ARE
St. Mary's is a congregation that was founded in 1911. We are the oldest standing church building in Colonial Beach. Our red doors and bell tower have been a visible sign of welcome to visitors and residents of all ages and backgrounds for over 110 years. Our congregation includes people from all walks of life including a range of professions from college professors to watermen.

We are a vibrant group who are engaged with our wider community: a family of God's people called to love and follow Jesus, serve others, and be a beacon of light in our community and the world. Check out our ministries to find out more!

We are so glad you found us, and we hope you will see you soon.
Our Priest

The Rev. David P Casey, OP is the Priest-in-Charge of St. Mary's beginning in August 2024. Fr. David is no stranger to Virginia, having served in Fredericksburg from 2018-2021 as Young Adult Missioner and Campus Chaplain for UMW and Germanna Community College.

His most recent call was as Priest-in-Charge of the Free Church of the Annunciation and Mount Olivet Episcopal Church in New Orleans, LA. He is also a member of the Anglican Dominicans (Order of Preachers), a dispersed religious order in The Episcopal Church devoted to teaching, preaching, daily prayer, and community.

Fr David enjoys riding his motorcycle and learning new ways to cook. He and his spouse, Jeff, will often enjoy their time off taking road trips.
Our Vestry
The Vestry functions similar to a Board of Directors and is the elected lay leadership of the parish. They are responsible for all temporal matters relating to the parish. It consists of five members: two Wardens and three Members, each having a portfolio of responsibility such as worship, communications, buildings & grounds, stewardship, outreach, and pastoral care.
